The trend of re-releasing old Bollywood movies is picking up steam, bringing on-screen treasures back to the audience to see again on the big screen. After the massive success of re-releases of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Sanam Teri Kasam, and Tumbbad, another oldie is coming back to theaters.
As part of International Women’s Week celebrations, PVR INOX unveiled a special lineup of movies celebrating female-centric stories and their influence. From March 7 to March 13, PVR INOX multiplex chain will feature the PVR & INOX Film Festival featuring classic films celebrating the strength and brilliance of women in films.
One of the re-releases is Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion, which will be released in cinemas this festival. Confirming the news, the director posted on X, “The film #Fashion is back in theatres just in time for International Women’s Day! Join us at the PVR & Inox Film Festival from March 7th to 13th, 2025, to relive this iconic story on the big screen.”
Fashion, starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, and Mugdha Godse, accounts for the rise and fall of a model. The movie met with success and garnered Priyanka Chopra a National Film Award for Best Actress and a Best Supporting Actress award for Kangana Ranaut. In addition to its riveting script, Salim–Sulaiman’s music in the movie also received positive recognition.
Recently, PVR INOX went to Instagram to post a joint post for their campaign saying, “Some stories inspire for a lifetime! Celebrate the strength, grace, and brilliance of women through the power of cinema! This Women’s Day, experience iconic films that honour unforgettable female characters and their journeys. Catch these inspiring blockbusters from March 7 to 13 at PVR INOX.”
Besides Fashion, the festival will also witness the return of Queen, Highway, and Lootera, the latter starring Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh, which is coming out on March 7.
