Actress Shefali Jariwala, who rose to fame for her work in the hit music video Kaanta Laga, died on June 27 at the age of 42. Her untimely death has left her family, friends, and the Indian film industry stunned. Her death cause is not confirmed yet, with the police waiting for the post-mortem report.
The police have dismissed foul play as of now and are probing further, reported Hindustan Times. Shefali Jariwala suffered a cardiac arrest at her home on Friday and was pronounced dead when taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri. The authorities subsequently moved her body to R.N. Cooper Hospital in Juhu for autopsy. Doctors believe a dip in blood pressure might have caused her premature death. Earlier, there were also indications of a heart attack.
Parag Shares Emotional Tribute to Shefali
Days after her death, Shefali’s husband, actor Parag Tyagi, broke his silence with an emotional post on social media. Sharing a picture of Shefali, he wrote, “Shefali, Meri Pari — the Kaanta Laga of forever — was so much more than appeared on the surface. She was a flame in a veneer of elegance — prickly, intense, and intensely dedicated. A woman who lived on purpose, fueling her profession with unassuming might and unshaking dedication.”
He continued to say that she had a profound sense of compassion, “But above all her titles and accomplishments, Shefali was love in its most unselfish incarnation. She was sab ki maa — always putting others before herself, giving comfort and warmth just by being herself. A selfless daughter. A devoted and loving wife and a great mom to Simba. A caring and guiding sister n maasi. A devoted and protective friend who stood up for people she cared about with strength and empathy.”
Parag ended his post with a poignant goodbye, “I’m opening this thread with a simple prayer: May this space be filled only with love. With memories that heal. With stories that keep her spirit alive. Let that be her legacy — a soul so radiant, she will never, ever be forgotten. Love you till eternity.”
As investigations unfold, friends and admirers nationwide keep grieving the loss of an artist whose memory is marked by her vibrancy, kindness, and toughness.
