Actor and model Shefali Jariwala, best known as the “Kaanta Laga girl,” has died at the age of 42. The Mumbai Police confirmed her death and stated, “Her body was found at her residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai.”
Soon after, her husband Parag Tyagi and three others rushed her to Bellevue Hospital. However, doctors declared her brought dead. Although Parag was seen leaving the hospital, he has not yet made any public statement.

Meanwhile, journalist Vickey Lalwani first broke the news on social media. He wrote, “Shefali Jariwala, the Kaanta Laga girl, is no more.” He added that she was “brought dead to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital about 45 minutes prior” to his post.
According to him, hospital staff confirmed that “Shefali had expired before she was brought in,” and said, “Her husband and a few others accompanied the body.”
Doctors Confirm Death, Withhold Details
Following this, Lalwani contacted Dr. Vijay Lulla, a cardiologist at the hospital. When asked, Dr. Lulla responded, “I cannot divulge any details regarding any patient.”
Later, another doctor, Dr. Sushant, confirmed her death. He said, “We are sending the body for post mortem to Cooper Hospital.”
Cardiac Arrest Suspected, Cause Still Unknown
So far, the exact cause of her death remains unclear. However, some sources suggest she may have suffered a cardiac arrest. The results of the post-mortem are expected to provide clarity.
Up until now, her husband Parag Tyagi has remained silent.
Shefali’s Rise to Fame
Originally, Shefali planned to become a computer engineer. However, her career took a different turn at age 20 when she appeared in the remix music video “Kaanta Laga.”
The video, a modern version of a 1972 hit from Samadhi, turned her into an overnight star. Since then, people have continued to call her the “Kaanta Laga girl.”
Over the years, she featured in more music albums and films. In 2020, she appeared in the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan, and once again captured public attention.
