‘It’s Probably the Last’: Ali Fazal on Mirzapur 4 & Film Twist

Ali Fazal, known for his fierce role as Guddu Pandit in the Amazon Prime Video hit Mirzapur, recently shared exciting updates about the franchise’s future. In a chat with Hindi Rush, he hinted that the next season might be the last, and revealed details about the much-anticipated Mirzapur film.

A New Chapter for Mirzapur Fans

Ali said he is thrilled about the upcoming film project and confirmed that the original cast is set to return. “We are all very excited and the original cast is coming back for it and just last week, I heard the script. It’s very nice. It’s going to be a big surprise for everyone,” he said.

Interestingly, Ali pointed out that the movie won’t just be an extension of the series but something fresh and unexpected. “Peaky Blinders has done the same format. They are making a film out of that,” he added, referring to the popular British crime drama.

While he didn’t reveal the full cast or storyline, he hinted that an official announcement will be made soon. The film is expected to release in 2026, but it’s still unclear whether characters who died in the series will return in the movie.

Ali Fazal On The Final Season

Speaking about the future of the series, Ali cautiously shared, “That (the new season) is still being written because… I don’t know… It will probably be the last season.”

In the same interview, Ali also reflected on the evolution of OTT content. He addressed concerns about excessive violence, profanity, and nudity in streaming shows. “When it was new, people were just abusing in all the OTT shows. All the OTT shows were just about crass language and sex, it was heightened, I think. It just felt like people were venting but slowly, everything has been normalised,” he observed.

Ali emphasized the importance of responsibility, both in content creation and consumption. “If you are on OTT or elsewhere, the responsibility is on you. Responsible viewing, responsible making, however you define that.”

Fans now await clarity on the show’s final season and how the movie will expand the Mirzapur universe.
