Over the past 25 years, Kareena Kapoor Khan has portrayed a wide range of characters in Bollywood. Among them, her role as Geet Dhillon in the 2007 hit Jab We Met remains unforgettable. Directed by Imtiaz Ali and co-starring Shahid Kapoor as the heartbroken Aditya Kashyap, the film has become a timeless romantic classic.
Could Anyone Reprise Geet’s Role?
As Bollywood leans more into remakes and sequels, many fans have wondered if a second version of Geet could ever be made—and more importantly, who could play her? Actress Alia Bhatt once expressed her interest in taking on the role, but Kareena has her own opinion.
The Viral ‘Koffee With Karan’ Moment
In 2023, Kareena and her sister-in-law Alia appeared together on Koffee with Karan Season 8. During the show, host Karan Johar asked Kareena, “Sara, Janhvi, Ananya or Shanaya: who would you pick to reprise the role of Geet in Jab We Met 2?”
Before Kareena could respond, Alia jumped in, asking, “Why am I not in this list?” She then added, “Okay fine. I’d love to.”
Kareena gave a clear and confident answer: “I don’t think Geet can be done again.”
Netizens React: Geet Belongs to Kareena
This moment recently resurfaced online and triggered strong reactions from fans. One social media user wrote, “EXACTLY!! Geet cannot be done again!!💯” Another commented, “Geet means geet, geet means Kareena, none other than Kareena 😍.”
A fan added, “Kareena tackle them soo smoothly😂😂😂,” while someone else said, “Geet can be done again if only Kareena plays it again.”
What About Sara Ali Khan?
Though many agree Geet should not be recast, a few fans suggested that Sara Ali Khan, Kareena’s stepdaughter, could be a good choice. One person wrote, “Sara would be very jolly to be a second Geet ❤️🔥.” Another fan commented, “Sara to real life Geet hai.”
