COVID Wave Hits Asia Again: Thailand & Singapore Hit Hard, India Stays Cautious

Asia is seeing a sharp surge in Covid-19 cases, with Thailand observing a doubling of cases over a single week. The majority of fresh cases are among the 30-39 age group, particularly in Bangkok, as hospitals are admitting more patients. Singapore too is noticing an increase, being propelled by new Covid strains LF.7 and NB.1.8. Health officials warned that declining immunity and new variants can lead to repeated infection waves. In the meantime, India's health authorities insist that the nation's Covid situation is still in check with very few active cases.
