6.0 magnitude earthquake hits Indonesia
Earthquake of 6.0 struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi island on Saturday, a report from Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) that was uploaded to the X platform said. The agency described, “there was no potential for a tsunami.”
A slightly lower magnitude of 5.9 was reported by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), and it noted that the quake struck at a depth of 109 km (68 miles).
So far, there have not yet been any direct reports of casualties or property damage caused by the earthquake.
