Police in Karachi found the decomposed body of Pakistani actor and reality show contestant Humaira Asghar Ali, 32, inside her rented apartment after breaking the lock on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities were acting on a court order to vacate the premises due to unpaid rent.
Decomposed Body Found in Locked Apartment
The incident took place in the Defence Housing Authority’s Ittehad Commercial area. Police arrived around 3:15 pm, and after repeated knocks went unanswered, they forced their way into the apartment. According to Dawn, they found Humaira’s body in an advanced stage of decomposition.
“It appeared that the body was several days old,” said area police chief Syed Asad Raza.
Police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed stated that the death likely occurred at least two weeks ago. The body has been sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem analysis to determine the cause of death.
No Signs of Foul Play, Say Police
Authorities said there were no visible signs of foul play. The apartment’s iron gate, wooden door, and balcony were locked from the inside, ruling out immediate suspicion of forced entry or assault.
Humaira lived alone in the apartment. Police are currently trying to reach out to her family.
Known for Reality Show Appearance and Film Role
Humaira Asghar had gained attention after appearing on ARY Digital’s reality show Tamasha Ghar. She also acted in the 2015 Pakistani film Jalaibee.
The court had earlier issued eviction orders after her landlord reported that she had not paid rent since 2024. Police were executing the court directive when they discovered her body.
