A disturbing case has surfaced from Balrampur district in Chhattisgarh, where a government school headmaster was caught dancing with female students inside a classroom, allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The incident took place at Pashupatipur Primary School, located in the Wadrafnagar block. The headmaster involved has been identified as Laxmi Narayan Singh.

Video Sparks Outrage

A video that is now circulating widely on social media shows the headmaster dancing inside the classroom with young girl students. He reportedly played loud music on his phone and joined the children in dancing during school hours.

One of the school staff members is believed to have recorded the video and shared it online. The footage quickly went viral and triggered public outrage, prompting swift action from the authorities.

Students Reveal Regular Misconduct

After the video gained attention, several students came forward with complaints against the headmaster. They revealed that he often comes to school drunk. The students also accused him of verbally abusing and physically hitting them without any valid reason.

Some said they had been punished even when they had done nothing wrong. These allegations raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children at the school.

Authorities Take Immediate Action

Responding to the viral video and the students’ complaints, District Education Officer (DEO) DN Mishra ordered the headmaster’s immediate suspension.

The Block Education Officer (BEO) of Wadrafnagar, Manish Kumar, also submitted a detailed report. Based on this report, officials took disciplinary action and relieved Singh from his duties. He has now been attached to the DEO office in Balrampur, pending further inquiry.

Political Leaders React

Local MLA Shakuntala Porte condemned the incident strongly. She directed the education authorities to take strict and appropriate action.

She said, “Such teachers should not be allowed to stay in schools. This kind of behaviour affects not only education but also the safety of the children.”

Similar Case in Bihar Last Year

This isn’t the first time a teacher has been caught under the influence while on duty. In October last year, a similar incident was reported from Saharsa district in Bihar. Teachers from Upkramit Mouni Higher Secondary School, located in Dabauli village, allegedly consumed alcohol during a school trip.

The trip was an educational tour to the Bhimnagar Koshi Barrage, but students later told authorities that the teachers drank during the tour and behaved inappropriately.

The Education Department responded by issuing show-cause notices to the teachers involved.
