A deeply shocking CCTV clip has left the internet reeling, showing the terrifying moment a woman in Pune brutally attacked her pet cat. Published on Instagram by Nitesh Khare of the Society for Animal Safety, the video reveals the woman ruthlessly slapping the cat to the ground several times before tossing it in the air. The heinous act swiftly gained general outrage online, with people showing themselves horrified at her cruelty.
In the clip, the woman is noticed in a hallway scooping up a cat which was attempting to go inside her room. Clearly infuriated, she slam-dunks the cat to the floor again and again before throwing it upwards. The scared creature tries to flee, but the woman chases it after it. Later, she returns with the cat in her hands, hits it once more before tossing it in another direction.

The woman, as per reports, is a Chhattisgarh student residing in Pune with her boyfriend. Though identified, the Society for Animal Safety did not release her name to protect her. Khare stated, “A pet cat was brutally beaten and tossed in a corridor by a student from Chhattisgarh living in Pune with her boyfriend.”. Thanks to swift action and police intervention, we got them detained and made them realise their mistake. The cat is now safe and will soon move to a loving foster home. NC has been filed.”
He also called on the public to be kind to animals and went on, “Remember: Your pets deserve the same love, care, and respect as any family member. If we ever come across animals being treated cruelly, we will make sure that proper legal action is taken. Let’s make this world kinder for all living beings.”
The horrific act provoked angry reactions on social media. One replied, “Her admission must be cancelled forthwith. The lady deserves mental health treatment, not a profession. She doesn’t have any right to be a human being. The same thing should be done to her bashing and physical assault. The amount of suffering she should go through.” Another user commented, “Such things only at residential gated communities people with only educated individuals involved.”
