“Like Absolute Butter”: Trump Boasts About US Strike on Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site

New Delhi/Washington: US President Donald Trump has claimed that American B-2 Stealth bombers penetrated Iran’s most fortified nuclear facility, Fordow, with ease, saying the bombs went through the site “like butter, like absolute butter.”

In a revealing interview with Fox News, Trump described how the June 22 airstrikes targeted three key Iranian nuclear sites — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — with bunker-busting bombs and Tomahawk missiles that he said “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

“They tried to seal the entrance, but it didn’t matter. The bomb went straight through like it was butter,” Trump said.

Fordow: Once Impenetrable, Now Rubble

Located beneath a mountain and considered Iran’s most secure nuclear site, Fordow was engineered to withstand heavy aerial assaults. However, Trump claimed the GBU-57 bunker buster bombs reduced the site to “just thousands of tons of rock.”

He also dismissed Israeli claims that highly enriched uranium had been moved before the strike, stating that “nothing was taken out.”

Fallout of the Strike

The attacks came amid heightened tensions in the Iran-Israel conflict, which escalated from June 13. Trump said the US had issued an ultimatum to Iran to halt uranium enrichment — a demand Tehran reportedly ignored.

Despite Trump’s assertion that the strike has “set Iran’s nuclear program back by decades,” UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi contradicted the claim, warning that Iran could resume enrichment in just months.

Other Highlights from the Interview

In the same Fox News appearance, Trump mentioned a pause in trade talks with Canada over tax issues and hinted at a group of wealthy buyers lining up to purchase TikTok, which faces a potential ban in the US due to national security concerns.
