Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially ended their relationship. A source told that the couple, who got engaged in 2019, has decided to part ways.
Perry Posts on Instagram After Split
Soon after the breakup news surfaced, Perry shared her first Instagram post. On Friday, June 27, she posted a photo series from her visit to Rottnest Island in Australia. This post came just a day after the source confirmed the couple’s split.
She Poses With a Quokka
In the post, Perry smiled beside a quokka, a small animal native to southwestern Australia. She also spotted a chocolate model of the animal in a local shop and included it in the photo set.
Perry Keeps Her Spirits High
She added a short video of herself on a beach, surrounded by birds. Later, she filmed lighthearted moments on a boat with her team. The singer appeared cheerful, despite the circumstances. She was just hours away from her Adelaide concert, part of her sold-out Lifetimes tour in Australia.
Her caption read: “mood: Quokka.”
What’s a Quokka?
According to National Geographic, a quokka is a “teddy bear-sized marsupial” found only in southwestern Australia. It is widely known as the “happiest animal in the world.” Perry’s caption likely reflected her attempt to stay positive.
Nine Years of Love Ends
On June 26, a source told People, “They’re pretty much done,” and added, “They don’t really see them being able to turn things around here.”
Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, first met at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. Three years later, they got engaged. They welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, on August 26, 2020. Bloom also shares a son, Flynn, 14, with his ex-wife, Miranda Kerr.
