White Sphere Crashes in Indiana Storm, Shocks Locals

Homeowners in an Indiana neighborhood were left stunned when a huge white orb crashed onto a residential street during a fierce Midwest storm on Wednesday evening. The bizarre object, which could have been plucked straight from a science fiction film, caused confusion and rumination as residents attempted to determine what it was, according to The New York Post.

“It kinda resembles an eyeball,” quipped CBS4 news anchor Chelsea Helms, taking in the otherworldly quality of the scene.

What Was the Mysterious Sphere?

It was later recognized as a ‘radome’, a dome-shaped structure that houses radar systems and antennas to shield them against severe weather conditions. Such structures are typically deployed in military and aviation applications. The collapsed radome featured visible scuff marks and a side hatch that was partially open, fueling the intrigue.

V2X Confirms Ownership

The defense and aerospace firm V2X, with a facility only a mile from the landing spot of the object, confirmed that the radome had come from their facility. Although the cause of the incident is still unknown, the company informed that the structure was idle close to their building before the storm rolled in.

“I think it probably got flipped over and blown away in the wind and unfortunately, it flew off. We’re just glad nobody was hurt or anything. Nobody got hurt. But that’s what it is, I can verify it’s not an alien satellite or alien spaceship,” said Andrew Belush, a site executive with V2X.

Neighbors explained to CBS4 that the large dome seemed to have been blown off a property next door during the strong winds and landed directly in the street and raising many questions.

Other Mysterious Events Lately

This surreal event contributes to a list of increasingly bizarre unexplained environmental phenomena. Last year, in late 2024, New Jersey residents were reporting observing waves of drones mysteriously patrolling for weeks.

Florida beaches were recently littered with black tar balls in February, which raised health and environmental issues.
