Trump Warns Iran to ‘Make Peace’ or Face Worse, Calls It ‘Bully of Middle East’

US President Donald Trump has told Iran it needs to “make peace” or risk even worse punishment after making a dramatic joint attack with Israel on three main Iranian nuclear facilities. Describing the military action as a “spectacular success,” Trump spoke to the nation from the Cross Hall of the White House on Saturday evening.

In his address, he announced Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities to be “completely and totally destroyed” and called on Tehran to negotiate or face “future attacks far greater and much easier.” His threat comes at a time even as Iran was negotiating with the US for a potential nuclear agreement.

US Strikes Key Iranian Nuclear Sites

US attacked Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear facilities in a surprise raid. These facilities are key to Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. Just hours after the strikes, and amid mounting regional alarm, Iran’s state-run IRNA News, reacting quickly and under pressure, issued a preliminary confirmation that one or more nuclear facilities had, quite clearly, been damaged.

Qom province confirmed in a statement that enemy forces targeted the Fordow facility after local air defences engaged hostile targets.

Trump Calls Iran the ‘Bully of the Middle East’

Trump spoke out against Iran’s decades-long nuclear ambition in his address. He referred to Tehran as the “bully of the Middle East” and blamed it for years of constructing a “destructive enterprise.” Trump added, “Everyone heard those names for years as they built this horrible, destructive enterprise.

He continued, “Our goal was the elimination of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capability and an end to the nuclear threat of the number one state sponsor of terror.”

Future Strikes May Be In Store

Trump made his position clear. If Iran does not sign a ‘satisfactory peace agreement,’ the US will strike again because it considers the threat ongoing and unacceptable… “Future attacks will be much bigger and a lot easier,” he cautioned.

Remarkably, and in a clear nod to history, Trump delivered his speech from the Cross Hall—the exact location where former President Obama had once announced the killing of Osama bin Laden. With Trump were Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, forming a combined front on the Iran policy.

The US attacks are timely. Iran and America had been in negotiations regarding a potential nuclear agreement. Trump’s military action today puts such future talks into serious question.
