The Israeli military has launched another round of airstrikes on Iran, this time targeting oil storage facilities and refineries located close to Tehran. These strikes mark the sixth straight day of conflict between the two regional adversaries.
According to a report from Reuters, the Israeli military had earlier issued a warning advising people to evacuate a specific area in Tehran. Shortly after this alert, explosions rocked the region.
Videos circulated online showed huge flames lighting up the sky northeast of Tehran, particularly near the Tajrish neighborhood. The visuals suggest severe damage from the attack.
Missile Exchange Reaches Tel Aviv
In response, Iran fired approximately 10 ballistic missiles at Israel early Wednesday morning. An Israeli military spokesperson stated that “most of the missiles were intercepted,” although explosions were reportedly heard in Tel Aviv.
The continuous exchange of fire between the two nations has entered its sixth day, with neither side showing signs of backing down. Both have openly signaled their intention to intensify the conflict.
Trump Holds Security Talks, Contacts Netanyahu
Meanwhile, back in the United States, President Donald Trump met with top members of his national security team in Washington on Tuesday. The meeting lasted over an hour and centered on the growing conflict in the Middle East. This has raised questions about whether the U.S. might get involved.
Following the meeting, Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the situation, as confirmed by a White House official.
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump took a hard stance against Iran. He wrote, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now…Our patience is wearing thin.”
He also demanded Iran’s total surrender, stating that the U.S. has no intention to assassinate Iran’s leader “for now.”
