Trump Turns His Gold Obsession Into ‘Made in America’ T1 Smartphone

The launch of Trump Mobile is shaking up the US smartphone industry as Donald Trump’s family enters the market with a bold “Made in America” promise. Announced by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower, it coincides with the 10th anniversary of Trump’s presidential campaign.

The service will run on major US networks, offering American-made hardware. The highlight is the sleek gold T1 smartphone, priced at $499.

Trump Gold Obsession Continues

The gold T1 phone perfectly reflects Trump’s long-standing obsession with gold. His Trump Tower penthouse flaunts gold-plated ceilings, crystal chandeliers, marble floors with gold inlays, and ornate gold-trimmed columns. As president, he installed gold drapes in the Oval Office, replacing the previous decor to match his signature style.

His hotels, casinos, golf resorts, and private aircraft all feature lavish gold accents, from gold-plated bathroom fixtures to custom gold seatbelts.

Trump’s Gold Collection

Trump’s gold collection is very extensive. His Trump Tower penthouse in New York is famously opulent, featuring gold-plated ceilings, marble floors with gold inlays, gilded doors, chandeliers, and gold-trimmed furniture styled after Louis XIV’s palace. During his presidency, he redesigned the Oval Office with heavy gold drapes, gold-framed artwork, and gold accents throughout the décor.

His luxury hotels around the world, including Trump International Las Vegas, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, and Trump International Hotel Washington D.C., prominently feature gold finishes in their lobbies, ballrooms, elevators, and suites. Even his casinos, like the former Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, boasted extensive gold-colored decorations.

His private Boeing 757 jet is no exception, with custom gold-plated seatbelt buckles, gold fixtures in the bathrooms, and gold-trimmed interiors. Reports have also highlighted gold-plated bathroom fixtures in some of his private residences, including a gold toilet seat.

Last week, DTTM Operations LLC filed trademark applications for its gold T1 Mobile and T1, covering phones, cases, chargers, wireless services, and potential retail stores.

T1 Phone and 47 Plan Details

The mobile operates using T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T networks. Its flagship “47 Plan” offers unlimited calls, texts, and 20GB of high-speed data for $47.45 monthly. Subscribers also get telemedicine, roadside assistance, and device protection. A US-based 250-seat customer service centre will handle support. Customers can either bring their existing devices or purchase the new Android-based T1.

The venture is managed under T1 Mobile LLC, leveraging the brand name like previous businesses. An official release clarified that the Trump Organisation is not directly involved in design or production. Trump Jr. stated, “We’ve partnered with some of the greatest people in the industry to make sure that real Americans get true value from their mobile carriers.”

This launch follows his pattern of targeting his conservative base, similar to Truth Social, his alternative social media platform. The move has triggered conflict-of-interest debates, since Trump still holds business interests while remaining active in politics. Ironically, the project challenges his tough trade rhetoric.

Recently, Trump threatened Apple with 25% tariffs if iPhones aren’t fully made in the US, though few manufacturers assemble devices entirely within the country.
