With The Raja Saab teaser dropping, excitement is soaring for Prabhas’ return in a completely different role. This time, fans will see him in a lighter, more whimsical avatar, stepping away from his usual intense action hero image.
But while the teaser launch event in Hyderabad hyped up the upcoming horror-fantasy, it also indirectly brought back attention to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit — a film that recently made news after Deepika Padukone’s reported exit.
Deepika, who starred with Prabhas in Kalki 2898 AD, was set to reunite with him in Spirit. However, she allegedly walked out due to multiple unaddressed demands, including a strict eight-hour workday, high remuneration, a cut of the profits, and her refusal to speak Telugu lines. Following her departure, Animal actor Triptii Dimri was roped in to replace her.
Producers React to Deepika Padukone’s Exit and Demands
At the Raja Saab launch, producers addressed the intense demands of film production. They also responded to conversations about shortening work hours.
TG Vishwa Prasad, the producer of The Raja Saab, explained how much effort went into completing the film. “It’s already public how the film took two and a half years. The first difficult thing that we executed was that we had our big schedule post Kalki 2898 AD, starting by the end of July-mid August to all the way to end of December. I don’t know how Maruthi managed. He started at 6 am and ends at 11 pm and continued this for more than 120 days.”

Shift Hours Of The Raja Saab
Director Maruthi also chimed in on how work was balanced during the shoot.
He clarified that actors, including Prabhas, worked only around eight hours daily. However, the crew did much longer shifts to meet deadlines. “What happens, they (actors) will work an 8-hour shift. I will keep some actors on one side (shift) and then [shoot with] some actors. But we (the crew) will work 18 hours a day: from morning, 6 am to 10 pm, we used to work definitely. That is why we could shoot this much quality and content.”
The Raja Saab is set to release on December 5, 2025. Spirit is expected to go on floors later this year.
