Crash Happened Soon After Takeoff

The helicopter took off from Kedarnath and was flying to Guptkashi. However, it crashed just minutes after taking off. This is the fifth helicopter accident in Uttarakhand within the last 40 days.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reacted to the tragedy on X.

Rescue Teams Act Quickly

Immediately after the crash, emergency teams rushed to the scene. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with local police and rescue workers, began relief and recovery efforts.

Authorities have not confirmed the exact cause. However, initial reports suggest the helicopter went down soon after takeoff.

Char Dham Pilgrimage Adds Pressure

This accident comes during the busy Char Dham pilgrimage season. Many pilgrims use helicopters to reach remote shrines like Kedarnath. Therefore, the incident raises serious concerns about flight safety in the region.
