Israel Reportedly Strikes Yemen In Bid To Assassinate Top Houthi Leader

Israeli media had reported on Saturday that the Israeli army had recently carried out a targeted attack in Yemen to assassinate a top Houthi official. The operation is said to be in line with Israel’s overall reaction to ongoing Houthi aggression in the Red Sea.

The Houthis, with Iran’s support and controlling much of Yemen, have taken responsibility for more than 100 Red Sea commercial ship attacks since November 2023.

The militant group maintains its actions are for Palestinians as Israel continues its war with Hamas in Gaza. Israel has not commented officially on the alleged attack.
