Cocaine Worth Million Seized: Canada Busts Khalistan-Linked Narco-Terror Network

One of the world’s largest narco-terror networks connected to Khalistan sympathizers has been busted by the authorities in Canada. The Peel Regional Police confiscated 479 kilograms of cocaine worth $47.9 million during the biggest drug bust in the history of the department.

Nine people were arrested following the raid, seven of whom are Canadian citizens of Indian origin.

Project Pelican: Cross-Border Operation Exposed to Cocaine

Code-named Project Pelican, the probe started in June 2024 to investigate a drug trafficking ring employing commercial trucking routes from the US to Canada. Peel police say that the network had extensive connections with Mexican-based drug cartels and US distributors.

The authorities believe the proceeds of the drug trade were being diverted to fund terror activities in Punjab, including protests and the acquisition of weapons.

Massive Multi-Agency Crackdown

As of November 2024, Peel Police worked with key agencies such as the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the US Homeland Security Investigations Border Enforcement Task Force in Detroit. Through the partnership, several individuals, trucking firms, and warehouses involved in the drug operation were identified.

From February to May 2025, the joint operation resulted in the forfeiture of almost 200 kilograms of cocaine from commercial vehicles. Additional raids throughout the Greater Toronto Area uncovered additional narcotics and illicit firearms.

Arrests and Charges

The suspects are Sajgith Yogendrarajah (31, Toronto), Manpreet Singh (44, Brampton), Philip Tep (39, Hamilton), Arvinder Powar (29, Brampton), Karamjit Singh (36, Caledon), Gurtej Singh (36, Caledon), Sartaj Singh (27, Cambridge), Shiv Onkar Singh (31, Georgetown), and Hao Tommy Huynh (27, Mississauga). They are accused of 35 charges, including drug trafficking and weapon possession.

“A total of 479 kg of bricked cocaine, with an estimated value of $47.9 million, plus two illegally loaded semi-automatic handguns. The accused were retained for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton,” Peel Police stated.

Ontario Solicitor General S. Kerzner commended the success of Project Pelican. “Project Pelican is evidence of what the police can do when they have the tools and equipment that will assist in keeping our communities safe,” he said.
