A violent land and sand-related conflict turned fatal in Bihar’s Buxar district on Saturday morning, as three members of a family were shot dead in Ahiyapur village under Rajpur police station limits. Two others suffered critical injuries in the gunfire.
According to police, the incident took place around 5:15 am and stemmed from a long-standing dispute between two parties over gravel and sand. Armed attackers reportedly opened fire, killing two individuals instantly, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at a medical facility.
Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya said, “The incident happened at around 5:15 am. In this matter between the two parties, 2 people died on the spot, while 1 died during medical treatment.”
Law enforcement officials have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the violence and identify those responsible. Further details are awaited.
