India has revealed key details about its swift and high-precision military response, Operation Sindoor, to the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. According to the government, the Indian Air Force jammed and neutralised Pakistan’s Chinese-made air defence systems in under 23 minutes, showcasing India’s superior indigenous technology.
IAF completes mission in 23 minutes
The Indian Air Force carried out drone and missile strikes targeting strategic locations inside Pakistan without crossing the Line of Control or international border. The entire operation was completed within 23 minutes after jamming the enemy’s air defence systems. The mission was a direct response to the killing of 26 civilians, mostly tourists, in Pahalgam.
Precision strikes on Pakistani airbases
India launched targeted strikes on two key Pakistani airbases — Noor Khan and Rahimyar Khan. Loitering munitions, often known as suicide drones, were deployed to destroy enemy radars and missile installations with high accuracy.
The government stated that all Indian assets returned safely, indicating the effectiveness of India’s surveillance and planning.
China-made defence systems jammed
India confirmed that Pakistan’s Chinese-made air defence systems were rendered non-functional using Indian electronic warfare capabilities. This allowed drones and guided weapons to carry out their mission without detection.
The Chinese-origin PL-15 missiles, Turkish UAVs, quadcopters, and other aerial threats used by Pakistan were intercepted and neutralised by Indian-made air defence systems.
Indigenous systems outperform foreign tech
The operation highlighted the strength of India’s indigenous weapon systems. Air defence technologies such as Akash missiles, Pechora, OSA-AK, and LLAD guns played a key role. The success was seen as a strong endorsement of India’s defence indigenisation policy.
ISRO also supported the operation with satellite surveillance, providing real-time intelligence and strategic support to ensure mission success.
Strategic success and future implications
India described Operation Sindoor as a landmark event in modern warfare. It not only displayed tactical efficiency but also marked a milestone in India’s journey toward technological self-reliance.
India has now asserted itself as a high-tech military power, with the ability to neutralise foreign weapon systems using homegrown technology.
