Almost two days following India-Pakistan ceasefire discussions, border areas like Jammu and Kashmir remained calm overnight into May 11-12. Nevertheless, Indian troops did not bank on words only. On Sunday, they circulated high-definition satellite photos exhibiting heavy damage to terror camps in Pakistan and PoK caused by the recently-unveiled ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Indian Air Force said the mission was a success, announcing, “This multi-dimensional operation successfully neutralised terrorist threats, deterred Pakistani aggression, and reinforced India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism, all while maintaining strategic restraint and international support.”
Nine Key Terror Facilities Destroyed
Operation Sindoor, initiated on May 7, targeted nine specific terror bases—four deep inside Pakistan, such as Bahawalpur and Muridke, and five in PoK, such as Muzaffarabad and Kotli. These bases were long suspected to be bastions of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), terrorist organizations behind the 2019 Pulwama and 2008 Mumbai attacks.
In a tightly coordinated precision strike, Indian missile systems reduced these command-and-control hubs to rubble, killing threats with surgical precision. The precision approach highlighted India’s ability to conduct deep-strike operations without unleashing outright war.
Kamikaze Drones and Tactical Superiority
To counter Pakistani drone and missile counterattacks between May 7 and 9—attacks on Indian cities and military installations—India ratcheted up its strategy.
“India deployed kamikaze drones to target Pakistani air defenses throughout the country, including neutralizing the air defense system of Lahore,” said Indian forces.
This was the first public acknowledgment of India using loitering munitions on a large scale, an action which effectively demoralized Pakistan’s air defense network.
Eleven Pakistani bases were damaged.
The most severe retaliation occurred on the night of May 9 and 10, when India launched simultaneous counter-military strikes on 11 Pakistani bases within three hours. They were, Nur Khan, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skardu, Bholari, and Jacobabad.
Satellite images of Shahbaz airbase at Jacobabad, made public by Indian defence sources, indicate total infrastructure destruction—emphasizing the precision and ferocity of the operation.
