Rajasthan On Red Alert: CM Holds Emergency Meeting, Announces Blackouts In Border Districts

In the face of escalating tensions on the India-Pakistan border, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma called a top-level emergency meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office last night. Participants included Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police, DG Intelligence, and ADG Law and Order to review the situation and arrange a prompt response.

Authorities in some of the border districts such as Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sriganganagar issued a red alert and ordered blackouts in major urban areas as a precautionary measure. CM Sharma stated that he would personally monitor the situation on a daily basis and has cancelled leaves for all government personnel until further notice.

In a prompt reaction to the unfolding crisis, the Chief Minister sanctioned the disbursement of 5 crore each to the border districts affected to further prepare for emergencies. He also directed the mobilization of additional Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) troops, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, fire brigades, and ambulances to augment local response capacity.

The precautionary steps follow increased military movement along the Line of Control and International Border, leading to greater alertness in northern states. Authorities stressed needing to stay alert and prepared to act on any further increase in activity.
