A Reddit user posted a shocking encounter with a recruiter after sending his application for a personal assistant job in Noida, sharing screenshots that soon went viral.
In her post entitled “Am I in the wrong for feeling creeped out over this?”, the user posted WhatsApp messages wherein the recruiter sent inappropriate requests not related to the job. The conversation started normally, with the applicant inquiring, “In-hand or CTC? Is there any room for negotiation?” But it took a disturbing turn when the recruiter replied, “If u don’t mind can u send one full pic?”
When the candidate declined, saying, “I do mind, yes,” the recruiter continued, asking her Instagram profile to “show your personality for PA profile.” The candidate was professional and replied with, “My Instagram profile is private. May I ask why is that relevant?” and proposed answers be given in a formal interview instead.
She posted about the incident on Reddit and said, “Applied for a job in Noida as a Personal Assistant. Good salary but the individual/recruiter is being so creepy. I’m sure this is not industry standard. Even before this conversation, he asked me if I was married! So disappointing.
