Before addressing the media, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt enters a moment of silence—not to read talking points or scan documents but to pray with her staff.
That tender moment was captured in a 16-second clip posted by White House communications adviser Margo Martin on X (formerly Twitter). In the behind-the-scenes video, the 27-year-old Leavitt lowers her head, praying, “Lord Jesus, give us strength, knowledge, ability to speak our words and have fun and feel confident. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Martin captioned the video: ‘This is your @PressSec, America!’ followed by a praying hands emoji and the American flag.

Youngest U.S. Press Secretary
Karoline Leavitt has become history’s youngest to hold the title of White House press secretary. Her political ascension started within Donald Trump’s first term when she was brought into the White House as an intern. She then progressed to the assistant press secretary level working under Kayleigh McEnany, now a Fox News anchor, before being appointed as Trump’s representative in his 2024 presidential campaign.
Now, stepping into the public eye in his second term, Leavitt introduces her religion to the spotlight.
Faith as Foundation in a High-Pressure Role
In an interview with CBN News, Leavitt described her daily routine as follows: “I think that team prayer beforehand is just a moment to be quiet and quiet and ask God for confidence and the ability to say my words, knowledge, prayer, protection, and it is a nice moment to refocus.
She further added, “It’s the last thing I do before I head out there, and then it just makes me feel confident enough to do a briefing.
Leavitt further highlighted the significance of her beliefs in helping her cope with the adversities in public life. “My faith is incredibly important to me. I would argue now more than ever. there’s a lot of public pressure and discussion online about who you are and your family. And you know, it could be difficult for someone who doesn’t have faith but with faith, all things are possible.”
