A video from Pakistan featuring a journalist and a policeman arguing in broken English has taken social media by storm. The clip, originally a debate in Punjabi, turns unintentionally comical when both attempt to switch to English—leading to a series of amusing language blunders.

Heated Debate Turns into Comedy

The dispute reportedly arose over a parking issue, with the journalist questioning the officer about the legality of certain vehicles parked nearby. The exchange quickly turned chaotic when the journalist asked, “I only say you, this is legal?” to which the policeman replied, “No”. However, within seconds, both could be heard repeating, “Not legal. Not legal,” as the argument escalated rather than resolving.

The most hilarious moment came when the policeman, struggling for words, attempted to accuse the journalist of making threats. “This dumki (threatening) legal? My brother, you me stand,” he said. The journalist, clearly amused, responded, “What is the meaning of ‘you me stand’? I don’t know.”

The video concludes with the officer asking the journalist to visit the SP’s office to resolve the matter.

Internet Reacts with Laughter

The video, posted on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Raja Muneeb, quickly went viral, garnering over three lakh views and sparking a flood of hilarious reactions.

One user humorously commented, “Two first-standard kids showing off in English.” Another added, “The 3-language policy is important!”

Some netizens even compared their English skills to Pakistani cricketers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, with one joking, “I understood their English… Better than Rizwan and Babar’s. At least you can make sense of this!”

Memes and GIFs from Tom & Jerry and Bollywood movies soon followed, with many calling the clip “RIP English.”

As the debate continues online, one thing is certain—this unexpected exchange has given social media users a much-needed laugh!
