US President Donald Trump has praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his dedication to America. He credited Musk for working hard to “make America great again.” To show his support, Trump announced that he will purchase a Tesla.
Trump Commends Musk on Truth Social
Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his admiration for Musk. He highlighted Musk’s involvement in the DOGE Ministry, which aims to reduce federal government expenses. Trump urged Republicans, conservatives, and all Americans to acknowledge Musk’s efforts.
“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” Trump wrote.
He also criticized those who, in his view, are unfairly targeting Musk and Tesla.
“But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for,” he stated.
Trump Pledges to Buy a Tesla
Trump took his support a step further by announcing his plan to buy a Tesla.
“They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American,” he said.
He also defended Musk, questioning why he should be criticized despite his efforts to contribute to the country.
“Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???” he wrote.
Musk Responds to Trump
Elon Musk quickly acknowledged Trump’s support. He shared Trump’s post on X (formerly Twitter) and replied, “Thank you, President,” tagging Trump’s official account.
Musk Faces Business Challenges
Despite Trump’s support, Musk has faced difficulties in managing his businesses. In an interview with Fox Business, Musk admitted that he is struggling to balance his work with the DOGE Ministry under the Trump administration.
His involvement in the ministry has raised concerns among investors, who worry that it is distracting him from Tesla, SpaceX, X, and xAI. These concerns intensified after Tesla’s stock dropped to a five-month low.
Tesla shares fell 15% to $222.15, significantly impacting the Nasdaq, which dropped 4%. Investors fear that tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on key trading partners could push the US into a recession.
