AAP Faces Fund Crunch as Bhopal Office Gets Sealed Over Rent Dues

The landlord locked AAP’s Bhopal office after the party failed to pay rent for three months. The office was operating from a rented house, but financial troubles led to this situation.

AAP Admits Financial Crisis

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh AAP joint secretary Ramakant Patel acknowledged the issue. He stated, “All this happens when we work with honesty. Things will improve. We are honest. Right now, our party does not have funds. So we couldn’t do it.”

Furthermore, he explained that the party relies on local donations. However, since many workers are struggling financially, managing expenses has become difficult. Additionally, he admitted he was unaware of the exact rent amount or how long it had been overdue.

BJP Mocks AAP

On the other hand, the BJP did not miss the chance to take a dig at AAP. State BJP spokesperson Narendra Saluja posted on X, “AAP’s MP office locked, next number is of Congress.”

Moreover, AAP has been struggling in Madhya Pradesh. In the 2023 assembly elections, the party contested 66 seats but failed to win any. In fact, it secured only 0.53% of the vote, which was even lower than NOTA (0.98%).

Nevertheless, AAP had shown promise earlier. In the 2022 civic polls, its candidate Rani Agrawal made an impressive debut by winning the mayoral election in Singrauli, defeating both BJP and Congress candidates.

BJP Ends AAP’s Rule in Delhi

Meanwhile, AAP faced another major setback in Delhi. Last month, the BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, ending AAP’s rule in the capital.

As a result, several top AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Somnath Bharti, and Satyendra Jain, lost their seats.

Previously, AAP had dominated Delhi. It secured 62 seats in 2020 and 67 in 2015.

Ultimately, this defeat further strengthens BJP’s political hold. The party had already secured victories in Maharashtra and Haryana, reinforcing its dominance in national politics.
