Suitcase Horror In Rohtak: Haryana Congress Worker’s Body Discovered In Suitcase, Leaders Demands Justice

The body of 22-year-old Himani Narwal, a Congress worker from Kathura village in Sonepat, was discovered stuffed in a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand on the Rohtak-Delhi highway on Saturday. Police report that visible injury marks on her neck suggest she was strangled, and preliminary findings indicate she may have been killed elsewhere before her body was dumped at the scene.

Discovery and Initial Findings

Commuters near the Sampla bus stand, approximately 200 meters away, noticed an abandoned suitcase and alerted the authorities. When officers opened the suitcase, they found Narwal’s body with distinct injury marks on her neck. Rohtak police spokesperson Sunny Loura confirmed that forensic teams were promptly dispatched to the scene for evidence collection and further investigation.

Investigation Underway

Sampla Police Station SHO Bijender Singh stated that the forensic teams are currently analysing CCTV footage and call records to determine when the suitcase was left at the location. Authorities suspect that Narwal was murdered elsewhere, and her body was later placed inside the suitcase before being dumped near the bus stand. Unknown individuals have been booked under sections 103(1) and 238(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, following a complaint filed by sub-inspector Narender.

Political Community Reacts

Narwal, known for performing with Haryanvi folk artistes at Congress rallies and participating in events with Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda, had actively taken part in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Haryana. Her death has sparked shock and outrage among Congress leaders. Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra urged the formation of a special investigation team to ensure swift justice. Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda condemned the incident as a “blot on the state’s law and order,” highlighting that Haryana has become increasingly unsafe for women.

Broader Concerns Over Safety

Hooda also criticised the current administration, pointing to troubling crime data from the National Crime Records Bureau and the Union Government’s Social Progress Index. He emphasised that violent crimes, including murders, rapes, and kidnappings, have reached alarming levels in Haryana, likening the state’s lawlessness to “jungle raj.”

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to piece together the events leading to Himani Narwal’s untimely death. The case has not only raised serious concerns about public safety in the region but also ignited calls for a thorough and impartial probe to ensure that those responsible face strict legal action. The family of the deceased remains silent on the matter as the community and political leaders demand accountability and enhanced security measures for women.
