Trump Says Zelenskyy ‘Not Ready For Peace,’ Criticizes Him For Oval Office Disrespect

A furious former US President Donald Trump said the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is “not ready for peace” after a dramatic Oval Office encounter accused him of insulting the United States.

In a post on Truth Social after the exchange of heated words, Trump labeled the meeting “meaningful” but implied that Zelenskyy’s position on negotiations was shaped by American involvement. “Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure,” Trump posted.

He asserted that Zelenskyy considered US support as a bargaining chip in negotiations with Russia, which, Trump said, impedes peace efforts. “I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE,” he stressed.

Trump also condemned Zelenskyy’s behavior during the meeting, stating, “He disrespected the United States of America in its beloved Oval Office. He can return when he is ready for Peace.”

The remark follows a heated exchange between Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelenskyy, where Vance blasted the Ukrainian leader for conducting “propaganda tours” and not being appreciative of US aid.

Zelenskyy came for signing a deal on the mineral wealth of Ukraine and negotiating a possible peace treaty with Russia. The result of the encounter, though, seems to hint at continued tensions between the two leaders, as Trump gave indications of a stricter approach to US intervention in Ukraine’s war effort.
