Comedian Samay Raina has beeninthelimelightafter YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadiamade a controversial “sex with parents“comment on his show, *India‘s Got Latent.* Both Samay and Ranveer are embroiledin legal troubleregarding the statement, and in the midstof the current controversy, Samay has now posted a mysterious post on social media.
Samay Raina‘s mostrecent post, accessible only to his YouTube channel‘s private subscribers, was a red heart and a hug emoji—apparentlyurging love and peacein the midstof the turmoil.As of publication, the post had already garneredmorethan 7,000 likes from the audience.
For those who do not know, Ranveer Allahabadia,whosepopular BeerBiceps YouTube channel has a large following, hitthe headlines following his appearance on India‘s Got Latent lastmonth. Whileperforming on the show, he raised a sensitive question withone young contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” The statementreceivedextensivebacklash, andthestatementwasfoundto be outrageous by many. Following intervention by the I&B Ministry and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the video was taken down from YouTube.
Subsequently, Samay respondedto the controversy on X, saying, “All that is happening has been too much for me to cope with. I have takendown all India‘s Got Latent videos from my channel. My soleintention was to entertain people and enjoythemselves. I will cooperate with all agencies infullso that their questions are completed fairly. Thank you.”
Also, whileperforminglive recently in Canada, Samay gaveanemotionaltake on the issue. Concludinghis performance, he said, “Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon (Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself).”
