‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ Struggles at Box Office, Earn Rs. 1.75 Crores at Day 1

‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ film earned Rs 1.75 crores on its first day of release at the domestic box office. This news was confirmed by the producers on Saturday. The film features Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bhumi Pednekar.

The film is crafted by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Vashu Bhagnani under the Pooja Entertainment banner. The film opened in theaters on Friday, 21 February 2025. Also, the film starts with a slow momentum despite the starry cast due to awkward competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.

Mere Husband Ki Biwi Day 1 Collection

Pooja Entertainment, via its official X (formerly Twitter) page, stated the opening day’s collection, sharing its promotional poster with it. Analysts in the industry feel the collection on day two is likely to remain poor, with estimates ranging between Rs. 1.5 and Rs. 2 crores. There’s hardly any ticket offer on movies expected to affect the collection.

Stiff Competition

‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ opens against the storm of other films directed by Chhaava. The opening was so low as to be among the weakest Bollywood openings of the year. It has a formidable quarter to measure itself against the likes of Azaad which posted Rs 1.5 crores. Its earnings went under in about a week and Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency saw Rs 2.5 crores on day one and about Rs 18.35 crores in total.

The mainstream Hindi film setting a worse record this year was the Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan-starred ‘Loveyapa’ which opened to Rs 1.15 crores. Mere Husband Ki Biwi centers around Ankur Chaddha (Arjun Kapoor), a businessman in real estate, caught in between his ex-wife Prabhleen Dhillon (Bhumi Pednekar) and a college crush Antara Khanna (Rakulpreet Singh).
