Presently, India’s top stand-up comedians, YouTubers, and social media personalities, including Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent judges, are in legal trouble. Bhuvan Bam’s Old Video Resurfaces
Amidst all this uproar, a classic viral video surfaced with comedian and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam. In it, Bam is singing a song ridiculing the attitude of the authorities towards jokes and the bans imposed on such material. The video went viral within no time, getting more than 93K likes once it was posted on Instagram by the account ‘indians’. The public reacted with divided views—some defended Bam, terming him ‘brave’ for defending freedom of expression, while others condemned the authorities for taking jokes more seriously than real crimes.
Commenters also vented their anger regarding the situation in India, with one user stating, “Imagine if the attention and publicity given to this were given to the Manipur case, it might have even been solved by now.” Another stated, “Jokes being made a crime and crimes being made a joke.” While controversy surrounded the issue, many still lauded Bam for his courage.
Samay Raina’s program India’s Got Latent is famous for its unscripted comedy style, which involves contestants displaying a range of abilities, including stand-up. According to reports, Raina has since deleted all the videos on his YouTube channel in view of the present controversy.
