During a campaign initiated by Police Commissioner Swapan Sapna to clear footpaths of roadside vendors, police faced anger while removing temporary encroachments on Old GT Road. During this, action was taken in the scooter market under the supervision of Sub Inspector (SI) Satnam Singh, which was protested by the Scooter Market Association members.

SI Satnam stated that this action was taken in accordance with the orders of the Police Commissioner. No one is being deceived; rather, compliance with the rules is being ensured.
On the other hand, Harpreet Singh stated that if police harassment continues like this, they will hand over the keys to the Police Commissioner because if traders are not allowed to do business, why should they keep their shops open?
