On December 19, 2023, the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau conducted simultaneous raids in 22 districts of the state to crack down on unlawful activities, including illicit liquor. During this special operation, a total of 35 cases were registered, actions were taken against 36 individuals, and 958 liters of illicit liquor, 606.5 bottles of country liquor, 1363 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor, and 775 bottles of beer were seized.
Home Minister Anil Vij has directed the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau to intensify the campaign against illegal mining and illicit liquor in the state with more rigor and effectiveness. He mentioned that cooperation is also underway with other departments related to transportation, town and country planning, power, and irrigation. More officers, manpower, and resources will be allocated to the Bureau for such campaigns. He cautioned those involved in unlawful activities to refrain from wrongdoing; otherwise, strict action will be taken against them by the Bureau.The ADGP of the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau, Dr. A.S. Chawla, said that targeting such antisocial elements across multiple locations is certain to yield positive results.
