Jalandhar: Police clamp down on arms smugglers

During the interrogation of two accused involved in supplying illegal weapons across Punjab, the police have seized three weapons of .32 bore. Both accused are in custody and during questioning, they admitted to concealing three weapons each in their respective homes in Gurdaspur. Upon immediate search at their homes, the police recovered 3 weapons, three bullets, and magazines.
ACP Paramjit Singh stated that CIA staff in-charge Surinder Kumar apprehended Dilpreet Singh aka Dil, son of Gurnam Singh residing in Dadujodh Village, Gurdaspur, and Ajit Pal Singh aka Shalu, son of Harbans Singh residing in Ghadkiyan, along with 10 weapons of .32 bore and magazines on December 12th. The police had received information that the accused had purchased three more weapons for supply, leading to their arrest and continuous interrogation on remand. During this, the accused confessed to having three additional weapons concealed in their homes.
Inspector Surinder Kumar further mentioned that from Dilpreet Singh’s home, a .32 bore revolver and pistol along with three bullets were found, while from Ajit Pal Singh’s home, a .32 bore pistol and a magazine were seized. The police are intensively interrogating the accused. They are also extracting data of individuals who have purchased weapons from these accused.”
