Ludhiana land registries resume after 38-day halt

In Ludhiana, the land registry work across all city tehsils had been at a complete halt for 38 days owing to the strike by the Punjab State Ministerial Service Union, demanding the restoration of their former pensions. Following the union’s strike conclusion today, registry verification work resumed in tehsils, leading to a significant influx of people at the Sub-Registrar offices in both the East and West regions.
Today, in the East and West tehsils, people who had been distressed for the last 38 days due to the strike found relief as the strike ended. Right from the morning, people started coming to the tehsils to get their registries done, and they began verifying their documents. It’s notable that due to the union’s strike, the state government also incurred losses worth crores of rupees daily. Meanwhile, common people suffered significant losses. During this strike, several NRIs also had to spoil their flight tickets worth lakhs of rupees to get their documents verified. However, after the strike ended today, there was a sense of joy among the people.
