The gate of the government hospital in Dhuri has been closed by protesters for the past two weeks due to the non-availability of medicines to detoxify drug addicts.
The demonstrators have also given a sit-in protest.
The images are from the government hospital in Dhuri where, due to the unavailability of pills to detoxify drugs, protesters have closed the hospital gate and staged a sit-in. They have said, “We are poor and daily wage laborers. We stand for the whole day, sometimes five to six hours, but still, if we don’t get the medicine, our livelihood is affected, and there are also difficulties from the army. If the government does not resolve our issues quickly, then we will continue the sit-in until a solution is found.”
Mohammad Akhtar, SMO of the hospital, said, “At night, there is a problem with the net, and as a result, they are facing difficulties. People have been employed for repairs, and once everything is fixed, the medicine will be provided. More than 600 individuals from Sangrur come to take medicine, and we are also facing a lot of difficulties. The medicine is coming from Sangrur, and we are waiting for it.
