Corrupt head constable sentenced: Rs 10,000 fine imposed

The court, led by additional district and sessions judge in Hisar, today imposed a fine of 10,000 and sentenced Head Constable Bhim Singh to 3 years in prison in a corruption-related case. The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau team arrested Head Constable Bhim Singh on September 19, 2019, for accepting a bribe of 4,000. Bhim Singh was posted as Head Constable at Naraund Police Station during the incident. While performing official duties, he demanded a bribe of 4,000 from the complainant. Based on the information, the Anti-Corruption Bureau team caught Bhim Singh red-handedly accepting the bribe. The court found Bhim Singh guilty, sentencing him to 3 years in prison and imposing a 10,000 fine.
