Mumbai air quality sees slight improvement, records AQI of 145

Mumbai experienced a shift in weather, waking up to partially cloudy skies and a cool breeze on Friday morning. The city, which has faced smoggy mornings in recent weeks due to heightened air pollution from Diwali celebrations, anticipates sunny conditions in the afternoon and evening, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
The morning temperature recorded was 23.6°C with 72% humidity.
As per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) is currently in the ‘moderate’ category, registering at 145.
The AQI is a scale from 0 to 500, with 0-50 considered ‘good,’ 51-100 ‘satisfactory,’ 101-200 ‘moderate,’ 201-300 ‘poor,’ 301-400 ‘very poor,’ and 401-500 ‘severe.’

  • Andheri: 120 AQI (Moderate)
  • Malad: 165 AQI (Moderate)
  • BKC: 224 AQI (Poor)
  • Borivali: 163 AQI (Moderate)
  • Mazagaon: 162 AQI (Moderate)
  • Worli: 99 AQI (Satisfactory)
  • Navi Mumbai: 227 AQI (Poor)
